Neighborhood Drainage Study
As directed by Mayor Sylvester Turner, the City of Houston Public Works and Engineering Department has contracted with an engineering firm to conduct a drainage study of the Timbergrove Manor area, following meetings with local residents who are concerned about the rapid development of the area to the west of Timbergrove Manor. The area to be studied is bounded by West 18th Street to the North, White Oak Bayou on the East, the Eureka Railyard to the South and Hempstead Highway to the West.
A number of residents have been tracking intersections and areas that repeatedly flood during rain events. Rainfall is being tracked using the Harris County Flood Control District's Flood Warning System (FWS) rain gages located at TranStar, White Oak Bayou @ Ella and HCFCD's main office. Residents can submit photos and accounts of recent flood events to the TMCC website to the attention of the TMCC Secretary.
TMCC aims to have representatives of the FWS and COH speak at upcoming General Meetings.
