Annual Independence Day Ice Cream Social Delivered Sticky Smiles, Patriotic Festivities In Timbergrove
More than 100 Timbergrove neighbors gathered in Jaycee Park for TMCC's annual Independence Day Ice Cream Social and Parade on July 4th. Everyone enjoyed beating the heat with ice cream for all, including our pups. After sampling a variety of tasty treats and catching up with friends and neighbors, everyone gathered to watch as our Timberkids line up their festively-decorated bikes, trikes, and wagons along the parade route.
State Representative Ann Johnson and Girl Scout Troop 122292 led parade participants past festive balloon towers and around the park to a patriotic marching soundtrack while onlookers cheered. After the parade, firefighters from our local Houston Fire Department Station 62 gave kids a chance to check out one of their pump trucks where each had a chance to take a turn at the hose –a welcome relief on a hot summer day!
A big thank you to our event sponsor, local Realtor and TMCC board member Jennifer Vickersof KSP. We enjoyed decorations and refreshments donated by Balloon Bar HTX, Flag Fundraisers of Texas, and Heights Mobil. We couldn't do these community events without all of TMCC dues paying members, thank you! TMCC membership chair, Tanya Chaney, raffled off two prize baskets to members in attendance. Thank you also to our volunteers who worked tirelessly to organize and host the event: Cynthia Schwendeman, Traci Riley, and all of our event day volunteers!
