The Taste of Timbergrove Wrap Up
Were you there? Did you come to our inaugural Timbergrove Manor Civic Club’s newest annual event? It had been years in the making, an event uniquely created specifically for our adult residents and it is named The Taste of Timbergrove, a Founders Dinner.
The first time ever event was held on Saturday, October 21 at the home of Tim Louque and Gary Nordstrom. There were about eighty people who attended. It was a smashing success based on the great attendance, the fantastic comments and conversations during the party, the amazing number of entrants in our pot luck dinner contest and from the thank you notes, e-mails and social media response. It was apparent that this neighborhood night out will quickly become the annual event to attend yearly in our neighborhood.
The pot luck dinner contest was a stunning success, really. We had no idea what to expect. In the end, we had about twenty-five entries! The pot luck dinner recipe winners were Bryan Cook for his Corn Casserole, Howard and Jeanette Moon for their Chocolate Sheet Cake and Linda Leggio for her Jalapeno Squares. These were but a few of the amazing dishes sampled.
We also added a silent auction to the event. All money raised — more than $1,500 — was donated to our Neighborhood Security Program. Nice work everyone! Our donors for the silent auction items were Rainbow Lodge, E|C Home Décor and Furniture Outlet, Hughie’s on 18th, Forever Young by Sandee, The Barking Pig, Bliss Gift and Home, Another Place in Time, Jody Morris and Michele Laprade, Annette Barry, Steve Ciapi, Sylvia Landry, Pat Sullivan Photographer. We thank them most sincerely. Our wonderful supporters, please stop by when you can and support them in any way possible.
Thank you to Eureka Heights Brewery for donating a keg of their delicious Buckle Bunny award winning beer and to Chanel Richbourg, a Timbergrove Manor resident, who is with Republic National Distributors for donating an impressive variety of great wines. Thanks to John and Lenora Pohlman for sponsoring the cocktail for the night, Planter’s Punch. And we must not forget our wonderful hosts Tim and Gary! Thank you so much guys.
And las, thank you to our official sponsors, Jennifer Vickers of Vickers Properties at KSP (713) 240-9671 and Chris Jones – Deuce Electrical (832) 623-6655. Thank you for making The Taste of Timbergrove everything that we hoped it would be. Thank you.
