Neighbors from all over Timbergrove and Lazybrook came to Jaycee Park on Sept. 19th, 2009, for a coin drive fundraiser for Friends of Jaycee Park’s planned improvements. From left, Lleana Desalos, director of Friends of Jaycee Park, sorts the hundreds of dollars in change given by the community with Houston City Council District A Councilmember Toni Lawrence. Among the thousands of coins donated, said Desalos, were coins from China, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Japan.
