Traces of Timbergrove

Submitted by Chris Daigle

David Daily rides his motorcycle in the woods now known as West 11th Street Park, 1971. Horses, bicycles, and motorcycles forged the trails you walk today. The woods was once owned by HISD since 1947, and was a popular choice for kids from all over Timbergrove for camping and nature. It was planned as the grove of timber that made Timbergrove. In 2007, the park was acquired by City of Houston Parks and Recreation and is today maintained as a nature preserve that is home to hundreds of species of wildlife.

Chris Daigle is a longtime Timbergrove resident and is always happy to receive submissions of nostalgic images of Timbergrove!
