Recommended Nomination Slate for 2017

The representatives of the Nominating Committee, as required and executed according to Article II Section 3 of the Timbergrove Manor Civic Club By-Laws, have created a slate of candidates we recommend to the dues paying and voting members of the Timbergrove Manor Civic Club. As a committee, we are recommending the election of each of the following people based on the efficiency, effectiveness, and proven record of each individual.  Each nominee has proven a desire to improve the neighborhood, from increased neighborhood activities, representation within local government, and broader awareness and contribution of the Timbergrove Manor Civic Club.  For these reasons, we are recommending the re-election of the current board and the election of two new directors.

We recommend the following slate of nominees for election:*

Bill Morfey (Nominee for President)

Bill Morfey has been a Timbergrove Manor Civic Club board member for the last nine years and lives on Wynnwood Lane in Section 6 with his wife, Idalia.  A graduate of the South Texas College of Law in downtown Houston, Bill is an attorney at a mid-sized law firm in the Galleria area where he has worked for fifteen years.  He was honored in both 2007 and 2008 by being named A Texas “Rising Star” Super Lawyer, and has received accolades for obtaining large jury verdicts for his clients.  Currently the 2016 TMCC President, Bill looks forward to continuing his work for the community.  Bill is also currently a board member of the City Park/TIRZ 12 and is a past president of the Lazybrook/Timbergrove Super Neighborhood Council.  In his spare time, Bill enjoys baking, attending Houston Texans football games, and his hobby as a disc-jockey.

Leslie Hillendahl (Nominee for Vice President)

I am currently a block captain for the 6200-6300 block of Wynnwood Lane, chairperson for the Beautification Committee along with my husband Brian Hillendahl and 2016 Vice President of the TMCC.  I have been very involved with our neighnorhood and the TMCC since we moved here in 2003.  Brian and I, along with our dogs, have lived in Timbergrove for over thirteen years this November.  Our son Graham is almost two and loves playing with his neighnorhood buddes.  However, Timbergrove is not really a “new” home for me as I was born here over forty years ago on Woodbrook.  I attended Texas A&M University where I received my Masters of Science degree in accounting.  After completing my studies at Texas A&M University, I worked as a tax consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.  After working for PricewaterhouseCoopers, I decided to return to school to seek a law degree at Houston College of Law, which is where I met my husband, Brian.  I am currently a litigation attorney for Zimmerman, Axelrad, Meyer, Stern & Wise, P.C.  One of my passions is animal rescue and I serve as the President of a local all-breed, non-profit animal rescue organization, Scouts Honor Rescue.

Peter Davies (Nominee for Secretary)

Peter is a Licensed Professional Engineer and since 1991 has been employed by the Harris County Public Infrastructure Department, Architecture and Engineering Division.  Projects designed and managed include roads, bridges, parks and other facilities.  He received his BSA from the University of Florida in 1979, his MBA from the University of Houston in 1984 and his BSCE from the University of Houston in 1998.  He has served on many boards in the past including:  3131 Cummins Lane HOA 1990-2005 and Dad’s Club FAC 2006-2008.  Peter has lived in Timbergrove since 1988 and has served as the TMCC Secretary since 2010.

Paige Ochterbeck (Nominee for Treasurer)

Paige and her husband Chris, Webmaster and President of the SN-14, have been Timbergrove residents in Section 13 since April 2013.  A graduate of the University of Oklahoma (B.A. Accounting) and Rice University (MBA), Paige works as an Economist for Shell Oil Company.  Being Treasurer for the TMCC keeps her connected to the local community and allows her to advocate for neighbors in issues affecting Timbergrove residents.  In her spare time, Paige enjoys reading, gardening, softball, and spending time with her dog, Biscuit, and cat, Guinness.

Jamie Hay (Nominee for Director)

Since 2005 I have lived on Waltway with my husband John (resident since 2000), our two boys and a couple of spoiled Labradors.  We intend to live here until retirement and can't think of a better neighborhood to raise our boys in.  Receiving my Bachelors degree in 2003 from Luther College (small liberal arts college nestled in the picturesque limestone bluffs of NE Iowa) I learned the value of education and community involvement.  I have worked as a Division Order Analyst at Apache Corporation for the last six years where I research, calculate, and maintain corporate and individually owned mineral interests.  Before Apache, I was employed with US Bank as a Compliance Manager where I worked to improve and facilitate banking compliance communication across business units.  One of my many passions is volunteering, so I have been an active participant on "TEAM Apache" which is an employee run volunteer group that works to coordinate volunteer opportunities across Houston for Apache employees.  I am also currently serving as '16-'17 PTO President at St. Theresa Catholic School where my children are in kindergarten and first grade, this is my third consecutive year as a PTO Officer.  I am fluent in Spanish and enjoy the outdoors.  When I'm not coming and going from school, sports, or church functions, my family and I enjoy time together and visiting our family in Trinity, Texas.

Carrie Brawley (Nominee for Director)

I have been a Houstonian for more than 15 years.  My husband, Mark, and I have been residents of Timbergrove Manor since 2009.  I moved to Houston in 1998 to attend the University of Houston and to play soccer as a member of the Lady Coogs team.  I have a degree in Finance from the University of Houston and have worked professionally most recently for Randalls Food Markets in the real estate department.  I am currently a stay at home mom to two amazing boys, 4 and 2 years, who keep me on my toes.

We spend lots of time at Jaycee Park and playing with our friends in the neighborhood.  In my rare spare time I enjoy fitness, attending UH football games, and bunco with other Timbergrove moms.

*Nominations can be made from the floor the evening  of the election.
