Meet the Speakers: Run the Grove

Thomas Britt

Thomas Britt is a lifelong resident of Timbergrove manor. He attended Sinclair Elementary, Hamilton Junior High and Reagan High School. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Thomas joined the Houston Police Department in 1973 and retired at the rank of sergeant in 2008. His assignments included patrol, dispatch, K-9, the Gang Task Force and Tactical Unit. In addition to his regularly assigned duties, he held an instructors certificate with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Education and Standards and taught Warrant Development and Tactics. He was elected president of the Houston Police Patrolmen’s Union in 1985 and held that post until 1991. During that period he was a registered lobbyist and represented Houston police officers at the state capital.

He has been a member of the Timbergrove Manor Neighborhood Association since its inception. He served on the committee that re-wrote and passed the deed restrictions for Timbergrove Manor, Sections 1-4. Currently, Thomas is serving on the Deed Restriction Committee, the Community Enhancement Team as well at the Run the Grove 5-K Committee.

Thomas is married to Judy Britt, also a lifelong Timbergrove Manor resident. They have two adult children, Becky, who lives in Dallas, Texas and Travis, who lives in Bastrop, Texas

Michael Norvell

Michael Norvell currently serves as the President of the Timbergrove Manor Neighborhood Association's Executive Committee.  Michael is a practicing attorney with the Texas-based firm Winstead PC, where he provides counsel on the mitigation on environmental risks in real estate transactions and loans.  Michael is a native Houstonian and has lived with his wife and daughter in the greater Timbergrove Manor area since 2011.
